The Seven of Swords is the card of the clever workaround. Sometimes that means smart strategy, thinking independently and finding a path others missed. Sometimes it means cutting corners, keeping secrets or trying to get away with something. The figure in the image looks pleased with himself, but he is also looking over his shoulder. This card invites you to check your motives and your methods. Are you being resourceful, or avoiding something you should face directly? It can also ask whether someone around you is being less than open, and whether trust needs a closer look.
Reversed
Reversed, the Seven of Swords often points toward honesty catching up. A plan that relied on secrecy may be unraveling, or your conscience may be nudging you to come clean. It can also reflect realizing you have been fooling yourself about something. This can feel uncomfortable, yet it is usually a relief in the end. The invitation is to choose openness. Own your part, rethink strategies that are not serving you, and look for a path you would be comfortable explaining out loud. Integrity tends to be simpler to maintain than a clever cover story.
